Working with the incredibly talented Ron Sexsmith on the film Love Shines has been a memorable, ‘just try to top that’ highlight for us. This is a man with a gift for songwriting and the respect of his peers as one of the greatest songwriters of his time. It is for this reason and many more that our hearts swell to see Ron Sexsmith in the spotlight as a shortlisted musician for the Polaris Music Prize. His album, Long Player Late Bloomer, is among ten others in the final cut for this prestigious award that honours creativity and diversity in Canadian music. It is with great pleasure and pride that we cheer him on, as the essence of this award is what he exemplifies. The winner will be announced at a special Gala in Toronto tonight (September 19th)!
We are also proud to share that Love Shines received the Audience Award for Best Documentary in a three-way tie with Building Hope and Connected at the Maui Film Festival. Love Shines was created to connect with an audience and include them in the journey of Ron’s life with music. We are thrilled to have the film receive such admiration!
Stay tune for an announcement of our first Love Shines screening at a European Film Festival later this Autumn.
